This was our first album. We recorded it with Riko Burrows who Tom had recorded with in his previous band.

We rented a house down the road from the studio and spent the evening drinking, cooking and having a nice time. I remember the toilet was on some sort of step and poor Matt's little leggies dangled above the floor. I also forgot to fry the onions before putting them in my chilli. Living the rock n roll dream!?

The recording was done on analogue equipment and went pretty well. We hadn't done any gigs prior to recording the album and I'm pretty sure we had only practised in Tom's parents garage without a vocal PA. I just used a shitty bass amp for my vocals. As such, this was the first time Dave and Matt had clearly heard me 'singing'. I recall walking back into the control room after doing my first vocal take to see Dave absolutely pissing himself. Luckily, Tom was there to tell me I did a good job.

Tom and Dave went off to a place local to the studio to get a quote for the CDs. I wanted the sleeve to be mirrored but that cost too much. I also only wanted a couple of hundred copies but I think we ended up with 500. You can probably still get a free copy from David Music in Letchworth if you ask nicely and buy something else.

The 'secret song' was played by me in the garden of the studio.

The album was released on the same day as our first gig on 19th July 2003. That gig can be seen on Youtube.
